Decide

Here it is – the first post on the new website. Total readership expected = zero.

Finding myself unemployed and starting on a significantly divergent path of my career, the first thing is (of course) to get moving and keep moving.

Decide won’t just be me and me alone. There are an array of unsuspecting friends, former colleagues and family who will certainly be press-ganged into making quiet contributions. If nothing else I can then at least use the term ‘we’ in good faith.

At the foundation of all of this is really a simple and rather common feeling – wanting to make a positive difference to something I care deeply about.

So, no more big(ish)-salary as a Consultant where I have to question the actual value of myself and those around me on a daily basis. No more hotels and expense-paid meals.

It’s time to get my hands dirty (literally). It’s time to continue with the re-programming of my brain, with all I am learning about Engineering and the natural Environment.

It’s time to be a little prouder of all the things I can and will do with the time I have.

Sorry if I’ve made you vomit. On with the journey.
